Frosh Orientation

Before your Orientation
In early-June you will receive an email and an invitation to complete the Pre-Orientation Canvas course. Please make sure you check your SJSU Gmail and personal email account! Be sure to review the Canvas course as it will have very important information that will help to get you enrolled in the courses when you meet with your CHHS advising team on day two of Sparta Camp!
During your orientation
All admitted students are required to attend one Sparta Camp session and participate for both days. The program begins at 8:00 a.m. each day. On the second day, you will meet with academic advisors and register for classes. Bringing a laptop is strongly recommended to help make registration easier. Be sure to review the Canvas course and any emails sent before Sparta Camp to prepare for registration. For additional details, visit the New Student & Family Programs website.
Next Steps
Once you have attended your Sparta Camp orientation, you will receive a Post-Orientation email with important information you'll need to know for the Fall 2026 term as well as how and when you are able to make appointments with your CHHS Advising team.
