Major Advising

College of Science Major Advising Model

Starting Summer 2023, students declared a College of Science major, who have 59 or less units earned will utilize the College of Science Student Success Center (previously known as CoSAC) advising services for General Education and Major Advising questions, concerns, and recommendations.

Students declared a College of Science major, who have 60 or more units earned will utilize the College of Science Student Success Center advising services for General Education questions, concerns, and recommendations. Major Advising questions, concerns, and recommendations students will need to connect with their assigned major faculty advisor.

College of Science Major Advising can be accessed through College of Science Advising I or College of Science Advising II Canvas courses. If you do not have access to the College of Science Advising on Canvas, you may submit a request by contacting (science-advisingcenter@sjsu.edu).

  • How to determine how many units you have earned:
    • Generate a Unofficial Transcript. On the bottom of the generated unofficial transcript follow the "ALL COLLEGE" row to the "UE" column to identify your units earned.
