Major Advising

For students with less than 60 units earned.

If you have less than 60 units earned you are encouraged to meet with an advisor every semester.

If you are not a student with less than 60 units earned refer to Faculty Advising.

Major Advising Appointments

Connect with an advisor for a virtual or in-person appointment through Spartan Connect. 

Read the Spartan Connect Student Self-Service Appointment Scheduling Guide to learn how to schedule your major advising appointment. If you exceed the no-show limit for Spartan Connect you cannot schedule an appointment on your own.

Drop In Advising

Drop-In Advising is a first-come, first-served in-person service for SJSU students at Duncan Hall (DH) 212. It is hosted Monday-Friday from 9:00 AM - 11:45 PM and 1:00 PM - 3:45 PM. Check in at our center (DH 212) is required, bring your student Tower ID card. 

Advising services will not be available during Campus Closures, Office Closures, or Holidays.

College of Science Advising Course

Students are added to the College of Science Advising Canvas Course within their first Fall semester at SJSU.
