Conditional Admission/Eligibility

The Path to SJSU Degree program (ATP+ICA) is designed for international students who are academically qualified to apply for admission to the university, but have an insufficient score on the TOEFL or IELTS. The Path to SJSU Degree program is an opportunity for you to study for at least one semester at International Gateways (IG), SJSU's intensive English program called Academic and Test Preparation (ATP), until you obtain the required TOEFL or IELTS score and have your academic transcripts and certificates evaluated, and have your GPA calculated by SJSU Admissions (Internatiional Conditional Admission/ Eligibility, ICA). After you earn a passing TOEFL/ IELTS score, an academic advisor at IG will assist you to submit a formal application to one of San Jose State University's degree programs via Cal State Apply.
Please note that meeting the minimum requirements for Conditional Admission/ Eligibility does not guarantee acceptance to a degree program at the university-- students who are offered conditional admission must submit a Cal State Apply application to a degree program upon achieving the minimum required TOEFL or IELTS score.
