SAVI partners with different university departments, research units, neighborhood organizations, public agencies, and private sector entities to organizing events with scholars, social influencers, and GISci tech entrepreneurs and educators, SAVi facilitates GIS knowledge exchange, professional skill building, and workforce development while providing spatial analytics and visualization research for the public and private sectors to advance decision-making that promotes equity. SAVI Talks are designed to engage and educate a broad audience about how GIS can be deployed to address societal and environmental challenges. SAVI in partnership with SJSU eCampus hosts GIS Days on November 17 every year to review available resources and discuss new features, showcase faculty and student research projects that use GIS applications, and make connections to build our GIS Community.
