Maira is a proud first-generation college graduate. She earned her B.A. in Social Policy & Public Service and B.A. in Education Sciences from the University of California, Irvine. Prior to joining the CoSS SSC, she held several roles supporting high school students across San José as they navigated their educational journeys. During her own college experience, Maira received meaningful guidance and encouragement from mentors and her community, which opened many doors and opportunities. She hopes to continue passing on that knowledge and care to the students at SJSU to empower them through their undergraduate journey.
