Locking and Unlocking of University Lecture Rooms
Unless explicit written approval has been obtained from the Office of Academic Scheduling, all University Lecture Rooms (including those with omni-locks installed) are to be kept unlocked and available for use Monday – Friday from 0700-2200 (except YUH 124 and DH).
If a University Lecture Room is locked, depending on the time of day, departments are to contact one of the following service groups to have the room unlocked:

Call FD&O Customer Service at 408-924-1990 during regular business hours Monday to Friday, between 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

If you are not able to reach FD&O Customer Service, please call the Office of Undergraduate Education at 408-924-2447 (between 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., closed for lunch from 12:00 p.m. – 1:15 p.m.). Please allow the office staff a 10-15 minute response time.

All other hours, including weekends, please contact University Police Department (UPD) at 408-924-2222.

Faculty and Staff teaching in Duncan Hall 135 are encouraged to obtain a key card access (S2 lock) by completing the Card & Key Request form from Facilities Development and Operations Forms and Resources page.
IMPORTANT NEW INFORMATION
To improve safety, academic building doors that face the streets bordering the campus will lock at 6:15 p.m. Monday - Friday. Doors facing the interior of the university will remain open to 10:00 p.m. Monday - Friday. Building Access website has been developed to provide information about building access including a map of which doors lock at 6:15 p.m.
