About Us
Academic Scheduling & Space Management (AS&SM) is a sub-unit of Academic Business and Strategic Operations under the Office of the Provost in the Academic Affairs division at San Jose State University.
Our primary responsibility is to assist and advise academic departments, colleges, and any division staff how to effectively schedule their regular (state-support for Fall/Spring) session and self-support (special session, including SJSU Online, and Winter/Summer Intersession) classes each term in order to generate the Schedule of Classes through the student administration system (MySJSU, or PeopleSoft) and Classes website. In Regular Session, SJSU also offers a summer regular session for specific academic programs. AS&SM also manages and plans the scheduling into 160+ University lecture classrooms [pdf] for academic classes and academic events through the scheduling software, called Ad Astra.
