EAP is designed to help incoming college freshmen find the right classes for them.
Discover the variety of resources The EAP and SJSU offer high school students below.
Junior and senior high school students have the opportunity to take exams to see if
they're ready for college-level classes with or without additional support. Learn
more about these exams and what you can expect on our Early Assessment page.
We use multiple measures to help determine whether incoming students will enroll in
math and writing courses with or without support. Take a look at what criteria we
use, and how that criteria changes depending on your chosen field of study.
If you aren't sure which math course is best for your academic goals, take a moment
to use our Mathematic/Qualitative Reasoning Course Options Explorer.
All incoming first-year students will complete the Reflection on College Writing exercise
before orientation. Learn more about this exercise, and how it will help you choose
the right written communication course for you.
Have a question about which courses you should take? Curious about the EAP process
or multiple measures? Our FAQ page may have the answers you're looking for.
