Among the adaptations needed as the pandemic set in was hosting events online focused on topics of shared interest. Examples from the past include:
- Elections coverage: pre-election and post-election presentation by Political Science experts.
- Campus and CSU system: Presentations by our CSU Faculty Trustee, Dr. Romey Sabalius and our campus Provost, Dr. Vincent Del Casino.
- The future of travel featuring Christopher Elliot, a well-known travel columnist and consumer advocate. Long Term Care Insurance (co-sponsored by system-wide retiree organization) featuring representatives from the California Public Employees Retirement System.
- A Holiday Celebration featuring the Choraliers provided us with the opportunity to
listen to a performance by beloved campus choral group and hear the choral director
discuss the challenges of teaching and directing performing groups in a virtual environment.
The programs were so well received that we continue to offer some of our programs online.
