Business Concentrations

College of Business Major Concentrations

As the needs and expectations of industry change, the business curriculum--the courses you take to earn your degree--must change to meet business requirements. What recruiters and industry leaders have been telling us is that their most fundamental requirement is for SJSU to prepare business majors who understand how businesses function, who can reason critically and articulate persuasive ideas verbally and in writing, who adaptively embrace change and technology, are ethical team players, and who comprehend the international imperative of business. Less critical for most business graduates is extreme depth within a concentration. Thus, when considering the trade-off between fundamental skills and specialization within a business area, most business leaders are opting for solid business fundamentals and strong personal skills.
