Goal 1. Engage and Educate

The Goal One task force is charged with identifying how the implementation of the Strategic Enrollment Management Plan, Student Success Equity Plan and expanding High-Impact Learning Projects that Include Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activity (RSCA) Activities Between Students and Faculty aligns with this key goal of Transformation 2030.

Goal 2. Excel and Lead

The Goal Two task force identifies alignment with Transformation 2030 across investments in Research, Scholarship and Creative Activity (RSCA) to increase participation in externally-funded awards; workshops to encourage outstanding faculty to apply for awards; and growth in Center for Faculty Excellence and Teaching Innovation (CFETI) programming to increase faculty publication.

Goal 3. Grow and Thrive

The Goal Three task force identifies alignment with Transformation 2030 and demonstrable improvements in national survey (NSSE and HEDS) performance in the ways the university enhances student and employee belonging, safety and satisfaction, including through the development of a new division of People and Culture that centralizes employee functions, civil rights compliance, and cultural and social inclusivity programming and training.

Goal 4. Connect and Contribute

The Goal Four task force identifies alignment with Transformation 2030 in the university’s cultural and sporting activities, whether through performing arts at the Hammer Theatre Center to national broadcasts of SJSU’s Intercollegiate Athletics programs, as well as curating a culture of service and philanthropy throughout the local community.

Goal 5. Rebuild and Renew

The Goal Five task force identifies alignment between Transformation 2030 and the university’s growth enrollment strategy that will grow general fund campus wide operating reserves including through expanded learning opportunities like Professional and Continuing Education (PaCE) and SJSUOnline; as well as identifying alignment with the strategic plan in the enhancements to the campus’ physical infrastructure and digital resilience.

Steering Committee 

The steering committee guides the assessment and recalibration of Transformation 2030 to ensure full alignment with the universities development across the full range of goals and strategies. The steering committee is a part of SJSU’s Academic Senate and works with the Office of the President to oversee the strategic plan. View the roster below.
