Department of Design

Department of Design Open House

Below you will find information from our design programs about their Admitted Spartan Day open houses that will be held between 11:00 - 2:00 PM. The department office is located in Room 120 of the Art & Design building should you have any questions or need help finding your way. We’ll also have some goodies there, so please stop by and say hello!

Welcome to the Animation & Illustration Program

Please RSVP here to attend the Animation & Illustration presentation. Arrive at the Science Building (SCI) and proceed to Room 142 between 11:00 AM and 12:30 PM (doors open at 10:30 AM). Immediately following the presentation, in-person guests can join us to tour the facilities and meet with students and faculty in the Art & Design building, 2nd floor. 

Guests joining on Zoom should contact Program Coordinator, David Chai at david.chai@sjsu.edu for a link. Links will be shared with Zoom attendees on Friday, 4/17. 

Welcome to the Graphic Design Program

Please arrive at the Art & Design building and proceed to Room 133 at 11:00 AM for a presentation with Graphic Design faculty (Marjan Khatibi and Cindy Raspiller). After the presentation, attendees will have a chance to ask questions and meet the faculty. 

Welcome to the Industrial Design Program

Please arrive at the Art & Design building and proceed to Room 205 between 12:00 and 12:30 PM for a presentation with Industrial Design faculty. After the presentation, attendees will have a chance to tour the facilities and meet with faculty and students. 

All About Interior Design & Interior Architecture

Please arrive at the Industrial Studies building to Room 241 between 12:00 and 12:30 PM. Volunteers will help seat everyone, and then the main presentation led by Interior Design faculty will begin promptly at 12:30 PM. After the presentation, in-person attendees will have a chance to tour the facilities and meet with faculty and students.

Facility Tours

The Department of Film, Theatre, and Dance will be offering tours of our facilities on Admitted Spartans Day from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM! We'll also have a table at the Resource Fair in front of Clark Hall from 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM. 

  • Film and Theatre Students - Start the tour at Hugh Gillis Hall first floor
  • Dance Students - Start the tour at the Spartan Complex Room 216
