Fees, Payment, and Refund

You can access your records and pay fees online by visiting SJSU One 

Tuition and Fee for Fall/Spring

The following is subject to change without notice.

Seminar/Lecture $288 per unit
Activity $300 per unit
Laboratory $386 per unit
Course Fee Check with Department

A $45 late fee will be assessed depending on your late registration date Open University calendar. Refer to the for specific dates. Billing statements will not be sent and students are responsible for checking their MySJSU account for the payment due date. Failure to pay fees by the due date may result in classes being dropped without notice.

Fee Receipts

You may use a printed copy from your student account to present to an employer for reimbursement or for tax reporting purposes.

Payment of Tuition and Fees

Remember that your payment must be received by the due date – postmarks are not accepted. Failure to pay fees by the due date may result in the cancellation of your class(es). Review your MySJSU account for the payment due date.

Returned Checks and Declined Credit Cards

Refer to returned checks and declined credit cards at the Bursar’s Office website.

Refunds

Refunds can vary based on the time you drop your course. See calendar for drop deadlines. Sign up for Direct Deposit (eRefund) to avoid the processing fee. Refunds are not processed during the add/drop period.

Student Record Holds

San José State University has authority to withhold registration privileges for any student with an outstanding balance due on their account. If a Bursar hold has been placed on your records, your registration will not be processed. To resolve the debt, please call the Bursar’s Office at 408-924-1601.

Fee Disclaimer

The CSU makes every effort to keep student costs to a minimum. Fees listed in published schedules or student accounts may need to be increased when public funding is inadequate. Therefore, CSU must reserve the right, even after initial fee payments are made, to increase or modify any listed fees, without notice, until the date when instruction for a particular semester or quarter has begun. All CSU listed fees should be regarded as estimates that are subject to change upon approval by The Board of Trustees.
