Call for Papers: Ninth International New Beethoven Research Conference

The Ninth International New Beethoven Research (NBR) conference will take place Wednesday, November 9, and Thursday morning, November 10, in New Orleans prior to the joint meeting of the American Musicological Society, Society for Ethnomusicology, and the Society for Music Theory.

We invite proposals for 30-minute papers, groups of papers, or lecture-recitals on any topic connected with Beethoven. A 10-minute discussion period will follow. Submissions from musicologists, theorists, performers, and other relevant disciplines are welcome. The Selection Group requests that all proposers include discussion of how their work constitutes new research or avenues of research.

Abstracts of no more than 350 words should be submitted to David Levy at levy@wfu.edu by June 10, 2022. Please include a short biography (100 words) and indicate any A/V and/or piano requirements.  Please note that we received almost 50 submissions for the last conference and can unfortunately only accept 11 papers for the upcoming meeting.

Program Selection Group: Joanna Biermann, Erica Buurman, William Meredith, Julia Ronge, Benedetta Saglietti, M. Lucy Turner, John D. Wilson
