Homecoming brings together current students, faculty, and staff and welcomes alumni back to campus in celebration of Spartan Pride at San José State University. Over the years, Homecoming has become an annual tradition encompassing a week of fun-filled events all aimed at showcasing school spirit. Go Spartans!

• Department Door-Decorating Competition

  • SJSU Departments all across campus will be getting in the Spartan Spirit and decorating the doors to their offices with SJSU colors, swag, and decorations! More details will be posted here as we approach Homecoming week.

Tuesday, October 25

• 4th Annual Block Party

  • 11:00am-2:00pm, 7th Street Plaza

    Join us for fun and food at The 4th Annual Block Party as we flood 7th Street Plaza in a Reign of Blue & Gold! Enjoy Ice Cream Sandwiches, Tacos, and Asian Fusion food as your walk through the festivities. Bring your friends to snap a picture at the photo booths and race each other through the inflatable obstacle course! 

• University Personnel: Staff and Faculty Homecoming Giveaway Station

  • 11:00am-2:00pm, 7th Street Plaza (in front of Wellness Center)

    This is UP's first time participating in the Homecoming week festivities. University Personnel will be handing out goodie bags and Homecoming t-shirts to faculty and staff as part of the Block Party.

• 18th Annual  Campus Movie Fest

  • Doors open at 7:00pm, show begins at 7:30pm

    Morris Dailey Auditorium

    The world's largest student film festival is coming back for its 18th year at San José State and we'll be premiering the top 16 films created by our students. Come see which films get the top awards and will move forward to compete on a national level.

• 4th Annual Golf Cart Parade and Pep Rally

  • 12:00-12:30pm: Parade from Housing Quad to 7th Street Plaza

    12:30-2:30pm: Pep Rally, 7th St. Plaza

    Walk with us or cheer on  parade route as we celebrate Homecoming with SJSU’s very own golf cart parade!

    Join us at the end of our parade route on 7th Street Plaza for a Pep Rally featuring SJSU athletics, band, cheer team, and more to get you in the Homecoming spirit!

    It's Homecoming! The Student Services Center is celebrating our Spartans by hosting our annual Open House.  Meet staff and learn how we serve over 120,000 students and prospective students each year.  We'll have prizes, food and fun!

• 15th Annual Fire on the Fountain

  • 5:00pm-9:00pm, Tower Lawn

    Rally together at SJSU's hottest tradition, the 15th Annual Fire on the Fountain! Come rally with your fellow Spartans and enjoy free food, free swag, an inflatable challenge course, games, and entertainment from 5pm-9pm on Tower Lawn. Come enjoy the spectacular fire show, fireworks and pep rally featuring SJSU football players and cheer squad!

• SJSU Second Annual Legacy Run 2022- Our Communities and Mental Health: Activities That Ground Us

  • 10am-12pm

    5K Run/Roll/Walk

     
    Spotlighting the importance of outdoor activities to our mental health and the overall mental health of our communities and how necessary it is to include all groups and all abilities in events that ground us in our heritage and our history. We’ll be honoring SJSU Legacy Week, our Social Justice heritage and our "Speed City" history.

    
    Participants: Community Running Groups, SJSU Track and Field and CrossCountry Teams, Spartan Recreation groups, Employee Affinity Groups, students, faculty, staff are all invited.

    Students are invited to come out to the game early and reserve their space to hang out prior to the game!

    Designed to bring together current student veterans and military student alumni, donors/supporters of veterans for camaraderie, engagement, and connecting with supporters. Please  RSVP to give us a head count for food and if you will need extra tickets beyond your 2 FREE ones you receive as a student.

• Spartan Squad Charge

  • 7:00pm CEFCU Stadium

    Students can begin lining up near the north tunnel entrance 30 minutes prior to the game. Students will do the traditional run across the football field prior to the start of the game, then head up into the student section of the stands to cheer on the Spartan football team!

• Homecoming Game, SJSU vs. University of Nevada, Reno

  • 7:30pm, CEFCU Stadium

    Halftime: Meet the Homecoming Court and Royalty

    Representing San José State University as Homecoming Royalty is truly an exhilarating experience and one of the highest distinctions received by any student. The Homecoming Court is composed of six Spartans, with two Royalty winners (regardless of gender). 

Bring your SJSU Tower ID and SJSU Sammy App on your phone for event check in. Masks are highly encouraged. Events are wheelchair accessible. For more information or additional accessibility needs, please contact Student Involvement.
