Faculty

Faculty can use the lab to develop course modules, supervise student projects, build research collaborations, and create demonstrations. Interdisciplinary teams can combine expertise in data science, computing, engineering, robotics, sustainability, design, planning and domain-specific applications.

Applied Data Science Faculty

Students

Students can participate through courses, capstone projects, research assistantships, independent studies, workshops and demonstrations. Projects may involve 3D environments, data integration, simulation, robotics, synthetic data, decision-support tools or campus living-lab applications.

Campus Partners

Campus units can contribute real operational questions, domain knowledge, datasets, facilities information and evaluation requirements. These collaborations can help turn the SJSU campus into a living laboratory while ensuring that projects address practical needs.

External and Industry Partners

Approved external partners can support sponsored projects, guest lectures, technical workshops, mentoring, software and hardware demonstrations and applied research. Partnerships should advance SJSU’s educational and research mission and follow university requirements for agreements, data, intellectual property, safety and publicity.

Ways to Collaborate

  • Propose a teaching module or course activity.
  • Submit a research or capstone project idea.
  • Contribute a campus problem for a living-lab project.
  • Offer a technical demonstration, workshop, dataset or case study.
  • Join an interdisciplinary team or student mentoring activity.
  • Support equipment, software or sponsored research through an approved university process.
