Description

The Louie Barozzi Scholarship recognizes San Jose State University international students and U.S. students participating in an SJSU certified Study Abroad program for their contributions to the community and commitment to international education and exchange. 

Three awards are given annually: to an international undergraduate student, an international graduate student, and a Study Abroad and Away participant. 

How to Apply

  1. Access the SJSU Spartan Scholarships platform
  2. Complete the "General Application"
  3. Apply for all scholarships you're eligible for, including the Louie Barozzi *International Student scholarship.
  4. Be sure to respond to all questions. 
  5. Submit

Successful candidates will be notified in early April.

2024 Application Period
February 1-March 29, 2024

Eligibility Requirements for International Students

  • Must be a matriculated SJSU student in F-1 status
  • Must have a minimum 3.70 GPA (cumulative)
  • Must be enrolled full-time (12 units as an undergraduate, or 9 units as a graduate student)
  • Must not be concurrently enrolled at the time of application (spring semester) and award (fall semester)

*NOTE: International Students should not apply for the "Louie Barozzi--Study Abroad" scholarship unless you have studied abroad in another country (not in the U.S.) through a certified SJSU program. Reviewers for the Barozzi International Student scholarship do not see applications for the Barozzi Study Abroad scholarship. Be sure you are applying for the correct scholarship.

Scholarship Qualifications

Preference will go to students who:

  • Demonstrate active participation in on-campus events and organizations
  • Demonstrate involvement in community service anywhere in the world
  • Are enthusiastic about international education and exchange at SJSU
  • Are able to clearly articulate how they would promote internationalization on campus
