The Lucas College of Business provides many resources for student success. Jack Holland Student Success Center (JHSSC) is the starting point and foundation of a SJSU business student's journey. The center provides academic advising, tutoring, mentoring, career coaching, and more.
Students enjoy a number of opportunities to practice business and leadership skills and to develop relationships with Silicon Valley businesses. Initiatives within the different college’s Centers and Institutes, including the Global Leadership Laboratory, field trips, summits, and conferences, offer unparalleled opportunities for students to hone skills and knowledge developed in the classroom. The Max Lab Project and the Idea Lab provide a both place and culture for students to innovate and test ideas. Students also enjoy prospects to explore their interests and practice their skills showcase their leadership through a wide range of student organizations. Other programs, such as the Business Honors Program and the Thompson Global Internship Program, provide experiential learning.
My LCoB classmates gave me the biggest opportunities, regardless of their majors. From letting me know about AIS case competitions, Entrepreneurship challenges, or even just networking events, I would not have had such a fulfilling experience at SJSU if it weren't for my peers who not only informed me, but motivated me with their driven nature.
