Free counseling services for all SJSU students.

Whether you are struggling with stress, depression, anxiety or relationship problems, Counseling and Psychological Services is here to provide the support you need to succeed at SJSU. In our current state of remote online instruction, CAPS is providing all of its services through confidential telehealth sessions. Our hours of operation continue to be Monday through Thursday, 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM; and Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM.

Your Path to Balance. TAO is an interactive, web-based program that provides assistance to help you bounce back from frustrations and disappointments in life, and also aiming to increase positive and adaptive behavior. TAO is based on well researched and highly effective strategies for helping anxiety.

24/7 Suicide Prevention Lifelines

For students who need help after hours, please call our 24-hour crisis intervention services at (408) 924-5910, option 4; the County Suicide & Crisis Line at (855) 278-4204; or the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at (800) 273-8255. Please call 911 for any life-threatening emergencies.

Beginning July 1, 2019, CAPS office will be scheduling students and asking that you contact us by the next day at 8:00 AM to confirm or cancel the appointment. If we don't hear from you by the stated time, your appointment will be given to another student wanting services...
