The Mineta Transportation Institute (MTI) is one of the nation's premier transportation research centers. For more than 30 years, MTI has advanced transportation through world-class research, workforce development, technology transfer, and education.
Our faculty and researchers collaborate with transportation agencies, elected leaders, community advocates, and industry partners to address critical issues affecting the movement of people and goods. MTI's research addresses the transportation issues that matter most: infrastructure, transit, safety, freight, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, sustainability, transportation finance, and workforce development. The results inform public policy, guide transportation investments, and improve mobility for all.
