Changing lives through continuous innovation.
The Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) is designed to improve student academic support of first-generation, low-income and educationally disadvantaged students. The program provides admission, academic, and financial assistance to EOP-eligible undergraduate students considered California residents or AB540 students.
Be a part of Guardian Scholars
The Guardian Scholars Program helps former and current foster youth, unaccompanied homeless youth, and wards of the court. In conjunction with EOP, Guardian Scholars provides a safe, supportive foundation so you can thrive at SJSU—and in life.
EOP requirements are meant to support student’s personal and academic growth by connecting them with SJSU Campus Resources and EOP Services. Thus, creating a SJSU community and sense of belonging; while also having EOP students be involved in their education by developing the skills necessary to successfully achieve their personal, professional, and academic goals.
EOP PAGEs (Personal and Academic Growth Experiences) encompasses in-person and virutal events that can help you develop a breadth of skills that benefit your journey at SJSU and beyond graduation. There are various opportunities that include: academic and non-academic workshops, Career fairs and career counseling, Wellness events, Financial literacy workshops, and events that promote your personal, professional, and academic growth.
For over 50 years, the CSU Educational Opportunity Program has increased access and academic excellence by offering intentional support services and multifaceted community engagement to first generation students.
