BACKGROUND: 

Nika Noorishad has her B.A in Political Science from San Jose State, and earned her M.A in International Relations from San Francisco State University. Her academic interests include International Political Economy, Nuclear and Environmental Policies, and American Foreign Policy.

Her work engages questions of security and international law, with particular attention to global economic systems and the effects on marginalized communities. As a lecturer, she is committed to student-centered learning that emphasizes critical thinking, research, and public engagement.  

Nika has worked in local government since her undergraduate studies. As a City of San Jose employee, she has worked directly with municipal institutions on policy implementation, legislative processes, and public administration. In her free time she enjoys traveling, spending time with her pets and family, and reading for leisure.
