Bio

I got a Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering, then a Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering at SJSU.  After graduation I worked as a BIW Design Engineer at Honda R&D Americas and am currently a Product Development Engineer at US Steel.

What do you do at work?

I work in collaboration with application engineers on sheet metal parts, and improvement of product designs for automotive steel components.  I analyze and determine specifications, evaluations and applications of engineering options to produce models and drawings and to refine design issues using primarily CATIA V5 and AUTOFORM.  I also responsible for maintaining quality, reliability, and consistency of AHSS for Lightweight solutions.  Finally, I perform forming analysis on customer vehicle parts, such as: GM RAILS, RH & LH closeout (MALIBU) , Seat Members, Airbag Housing (Lear/JCI/Autoliv), Rails, A, B pillar, Front Header, Roof Bow (Chrysler/Toyota/Honda).

What are you most passionate about in your work? Why?

I am passionate about solving the problems that prevail in the automotive industry. I help the OEM to understand their design flaws and recommend them with design modifications for better manufacturability.

How has your SJSU AE experience helped shape your success?

The experience at SJSU made me creative by helping me critically think and solve any challenges that I encountered. I gained an overall picture of the procedure and practices that are used in the industry. The professors' guidance and helping nature evolved me into a better personality, thereby molding me as a responsible person who can establish and create an impact in the industry. Being an international student , SJSU supported me in all possible ways to guide me in becoming a successful person.

How are you making a positive impact in the world?

I'm making a positive impact in the world by using my technical and people skills to change or create a difference in the industry, and by learning and growing with the company.
