Course Repeats

Biology majors are limited to one repeat of any course required in any Biology major or concentration. Second repeats will only be approved under special circumstances.

Course Substitutions

Course substitutions are generally not permitted for required courses, except with courses deemed equivalent (see the SJSU Articulation Page for equivalent courses – these automatically substitute). To request a course you have already taken be considered for equivalency, please submit a College of Science Equivalency Petition. Courses will not be evaluated for equivalency in advance.

Course substitutions will be considered for elective courses on a case-by-case basis, in consultation with your major advisor, and are at the discretion of the department chair.
