SJSU campus community,

With the county recently returning to the Purple (Widespread) tier following the lift of the state’s Stay-at-Home order, SJSU will be moving forward with the return of face-to-face classes that were already approved to be in that modality for the spring semester on Monday, February 15. Courses that were not already approved to meet on campus before the start of the semester will remain remote.

Health and Safety Reminders

As we prepare to welcome more people back to campus for the first time since last fall, here are a few reminders to ensure the campus is safe:

  • Access to the property, grounds and facilities of SJSU continues to be restricted to authorized students, faculty, staff, and essential contractors/vendors only.
  • Face coverings or masks must be worn at all times on campus, unless you are alone inside of a private room/office with the door closed.
  • Before coming to campus, self monitor for COVID-19-related symptoms by using the SJSU COVID-19 Symptom Check Tool. If you are feeling ill, do not come to campus and advise your instructor or supervisor.
  • Doors to all buildings continue to be locked, but most buildings are accessible with your new Tower Card. View the interactive SJSU campus map to see the programmed accessible entrance locations for buildings on campus, and note that some buildings remain closed.
  • Facilities Development and Operations (FD&O) continues to provide COVID-19 related safety supplies and equipment including face coverings, disinfection supplies, and personal protective equipment (PPE) for students residing on campus, for faculty/staff members who have on-campus work requirements during the pandemic, or coaches/staff working in Athletics. To request supplies, complete the Obtain COVID-19 Safety Supplies form
  • For all students coming to campus for face-to-face courses or approved extracurricular activities, including Athletics, supplies will also be available throughout the campus, as well as at the FD&O Customer Service Center (Corporation Yard A building).

Potential Vaccination Site for County

We are in discussions with Santa Clara County to serve as a potential vaccination site. Details are still being finalized, although the county may include SJSU in a press conference regarding vaccination sites this week. We will update the campus community as soon as there is confirmed information to share.

Thank you for your continued work in making this semester a successful one.
