About Andrew Perera:

Andrew grew up in the South Bay near the Santa Clara-Sunnyvale border. Andrew joined the Marines from high school and deployed as an infantryman in Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2008. Andrew received his BA in Religious Studies from Humboldt State University and his Master of Jurisprudence in Indian Law from the University of Tulsa. He is currently a doctor of law and policy candidate at Northeastern University. He works with the Special Presidential Envoy for Hostage Affairs through the US Diplomacy Lab.  Andrew's focus areas are Federal Indian Law and Policy, jurisdiction in Indian Country, social change, racial and gender equity, and policy solutions.
