Hiring and Staffing

The SJSU Research Foundation (SJSURF) welcomes applications for Open Positions. Learn what our team has to say about working for SJSURF.

As an auxiliary of the university, SJSURF employment is separate and distinct from San José State University and State of California employment. SJSURF employees are not employees of SJSU or of the State of California.

How to Apply

In order for an applicant to apply for an open position, the applicant must submit a formal application for employment. Visit the open positions webpage, Click on "View" to expand the "Summary" options, and then Select "Apply Now" to complete the SJSURF online employment application via Circa’s applicant tracking system.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the SJSURF. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current SJSURF employees who apply for the position.

PLEASE NOTE: Some positions are considered “sensitive” by SJSURF and CSU policy. Consequently, the successful candidate must undergo and successfully complete the Live Scan (fingerprinting) background check as a condition of their employment. This background check must be completed before the actual start of employment.
