Additional Benefits & Discounts

The Research Foundation offers a variety of optional benefits, programs, and discounts.

Employee Assistance Program

The Research Foundation offers employee assistance to ALL employees through Concern EAP. This plan provides information, referrals, and short term counseling for problems affecting the employee’s work or their personal life. There is no cost to the employee for this benefit.

CONCERN EAP can be reached online at or at their toll-free number: 1-800-344-4222. Employees can call or e-mail CONCERN directly and confidentially. The only thing that you will be asked for is our company code, which is SJSU Foundation.

Benfited employees are also eligible for employee assistance through the AXA Employee Assistance Program. Information is available on the Employee Navigator website.

Flexible Spending Accounts

They allow you to set aside money on a pre-tax basis to cover Health Care, Dependent Care, and Commuter Express expenses not normally covered by your primary (medical, dental, and vision) or other supplemental benefits. Once signed up for an FSA you must renew your elections yearly during the Open Enrollment period if you wish for contributions to continue. You can review your FSA balance and claims information by signing up and creating an account on the Health Equity by Wageworks website.
