Change of Major

Requirements by Major or Concentration

Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Science, Dietetics Concentration

Students must have all of the following before applying:

  • A minimum SJSU cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • “C” or better grade in Chem 1A
  • “C” or better grade in Nutrition course

There is no guarantee of admission to the Dietetics concentration.

How to apply

  1. Download and complete the Change of Major Form [pdf].
  2. Submit the Change of Major Form along with the following documents to nutrition@sjsu.edu.
    • “Unofficial SJSU Transcript”, (not “Grades” option version) including
      “SJSU cum” column and most recent semester’s grades.
      • If you are a transfer student, then submit unofficial transcripts from all previous colleges.
    • A brief personal statement on how the change/addition of major or minor will affect your graduation.

Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Science, Applied Nutrition and Food Sciences or Food Management Concentration

Change of Major applications can be submitted at anytime. You must have a minimum SJSU cumulative GPA of 2.5.

How to apply

  1. Download and complete the Change of Major Form [pdf].
  2. Submit the Change of Major Form along with the following documents to nutrition@sjsu.edu.
    • “Unofficial SJSU Transcript”, (not “Grades” option version) including
      “SJSU cum” column and most recent semester’s grades.
      • If you are a transfer student, then submit unofficial transcripts from all previous colleges.

Bachelor of Science in Packaging
