How to Contact the ESSC
Live Help Desk and Drop-in Advising 
You can contact the ESSC Virtual Front Desk to talk to a peer advisor for quick questions during most of our open business hours.
8:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon Monday through Friday
1:00 to 4:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, and Friday
Appointments
You can make appointments with an ESSC advisor via Spartan Connect.
Advisors handle more involved topics such as:
- Academic Plan and Goals
- Change of Major
- GE checklists / advising
- Holds
- Major Advising (A full list of major advising services can be found in our Major Advising page)
- Probation
- University Withdrawal
- Transfer Credit Equivalency
Advisors also handle less involved topics such as:
- Form Signatures
- Policy Clarification
- Check in Meeting
- Follow-up Meeting
- Registration questions
- Hold removal status
Outside of business hours or anytime, you can contact us at success-engineering@sjsu.edu for short clarification of policies already on our web site. You can also contact us if you:
- are unsure about the length of your inquiry and whether an appointment is necessary
- need assistance scheduling an appointment
- have a Plan of Study to be reviewed
