Graduation & Commencement
Students must apply for graduation in order to receive their degree. View eligibility requirements on the Registrar's website.
Students graduating Fall 2022 or later must apply online, via their MySJSU. The Office of the Registrar will no longer accept paper applications. Please see the Registrar's graduation website for details.
Students unable to apply online should contact their graduation evaluator. For situations where a paper application is required, the Registrar's office will provide a link to a Google Form. The graduation evaluator will then work with the student/department to obtain a major form.
Keep on track for graduation (use early and often):

Commencement is the ceremony most people think of as graduation. An application must be submitted in order to participate in commencement. Commencement is purely ceremonial and separate from actual graduation, so incomplete requirements will not affect your ability to participate.
Eligible students need to register for the in-person commencement ceremony (see email to eligible students regarding Fall 2022 event registration). For up-to-date information and announcements, see the Commencement web site and Instagram page.
If you have any questions about commencement (eligibility, attending a ceremony other than Engineering's, tickets, etc.), please contact the Commencement team and include your student ID number.
Virtual Grad Fest
Open to all participating graduates: visit the Grad Fest website for more information about in-person commencement ceremonies, online recognition, vendor specials (academic regalia, class rings, graduation photos, gifts), and important deadlines not to be missed!
