Animation/Illustration Community Engagement

Animation/Illustration Community Engagement

Our Design Department believes that design is more than just aesthetics; it’s also the ability to apply what is learned in the classroom to better the community, not only as designers, but as global citizens. Our Animation/Illustration students often work with high school programs and give talks to younger students who visit SJSU. Listed below are some of the engagement opportunities the Animation/Illustration program offers to the community.

Visiting Animation & Illustration

Visits to the program are available one Friday each month and must be scheduled in advance. Visits consist of brief classroom visits, program overview, facilities tours, and samples of student artwork. Visits generally last approximately 60 minutes and can be arranged by emailing Professor David Chai: Guests should specify if they prefer meeting in person or attending over Zoom. In-person guests should meet at Art 245 at 10:00 AM on the day of their tour.

Tours for spring 2022 are available on 2/11 (Zoom only), 3/11, 4/8, and 5/6
