Qualified candidates will likely have a background in storyboarding, animation, digital
media, illustration, game development, or fine arts. A strong portfolio and/or animation
reel is required in order to be accepted into the program. A strong project proposal
for the MDes is also heavily weighted.
In order to apply, applicants must have completed a bachelor’s degree from an accredited
institution while also maintaining a minimum GPA of 2.5.
Portfolio Requirement: an online portfolio is required with at least 10 projects exhibited
that demonstrate academic/professional background, skills, and expertise.
Official transcripts from all higher education institutions.
Two letters of recommendation.
A one page statement of purpose explaining why you are pursuing a graduate degree
in experience design. Must also include a preliminary master’s project proposal.
International students must demonstrate English language proficiency. One of the following
is required (all test scores must be less than two years old): (1) A TOEFL (Test of
English as a Foreign Language) score of at least 590 (paper based), 243 (computer
based), or 96 (internet based), with a score of 5 in the Writing Section. (2) PTE
(Pearson Test of English) score of at least 68. (3) International English Language
Testing System (IELTS - institution code 4687) score of at least 7.0.
