59th Annual Honors Convocation

San Jose State University recognizes the academic achievements of 2,764 President’s Scholars for the Spring 2020 and/or Fall 2020 semesters.

Virtual Event

This year's ceremony was held virtually on Friday, April 23, 2021 from 4:00 - 5:00 pm. The program included a live streamed virtual kick-off event hosted by President Papazian and Provost Del Casino, followed by a keynote address by the 2020-21 Outstanding Professor, and concluded with the Dean's presentation of the honorees.

About Honors Convocation

San José State University hosts the Honors Convocation each spring to honor its distinguished students who have achieved academic excellence. Undergraduate students who have earned an SJSU GPA of 4.0 for the spring and/or fall semester prior to the Honors Convocation ceremony shall be awarded the distinction as President’s Scholars. The Honors Convocation was inaugurated in 1962 by three honor societies, Phi Kappa Phi, Sigma Xi and Phi Beta Kappa Faculty Club, to recognize and encourage superior academic achievement at the University.

Note: Latin Honors at Graduation is separate from the designation of President's Scholar. Latin Honors is awarded during Commencement. More information can be found here.
