Virtual Lab Environment
DaaS (Desktop As A Service) - Virtual Labs & Research Labs
Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) also known as Desktop as a Service (DaaS) is SJSU's next generation of computer labs and research related compute. These virtual desktops and applications are hosted by a remote service over the internet. This allows students, faculty, and researchers to access certain labs or software, any time, anywhere, and reduce the need to be on campus to access a computer lab.
Currently, the College of Engineering, College of Social Science, and College of Business deployed VDI to many on-campus computer labs as well as virtual labs for online instruction and research.
Few examples of Research Labs setup in DaaS:
The Spartan Experimental Economics Lab (SEEL)
Some additional labs setup in progress:
Vectr Lab - Department of Psychology
Virtual Environments, Cognition, & Training Research Laboratory
