What You Need to Know
Faculty and Students are eligible for Office 365 Education, which includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and additional classroom tools. Staff is still being reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Please check with your Department IT for more information.
SJSU IT provides support for Faculty and Staff for SJSUOne Single Sign-on (SSO) applications and Microsoft Office 365 (O365) Core Services: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
What You Need to Do
Office 365 is licensed for use on up to 5 computers. Log into portal.office.com with your SJSUOne credentials, and click on the button labeled "Install Office" to begin the download. For printable guides with useful tips, shortcuts, and screenshots, visit the Office Quick Start.
If you are not compatible/eligible for the Office 365 download, you can use the online version that has the same core applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
How can I access my Office 365 account?
Go to portal.office.com and sign in with your SJSUOne account e.g. firstname.lastname@example.org.

Office 365 is a cloud-based version of Microsoft Office.

Office 365 is being introduced to provide more options, including free Office software.
Why don't faculty and staff have a mailbox in Office 365?
Faculty and staff use Gmail for all email correspondence.
