String Project

Fall 2023 — Spring 2024

The String Project provides group violin classes to elementary and middle school students, while providing a hands-on, supervised teaching experience to our university music education majors.

In Fall 2023 students will meet Tuesday and Wednesday from 4pm-5pm in the Music Building at SJSU.

In Spring 2024, students will meet Monday and Wednesday from 4pm-5pm in the Music Building at SJSU.

We are charging a small tuition fee on a sliding scale of $75/semester per student. If that is not in your budget this spring, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate your needs. Additionally, there is a small rental fee of $25 per semester to use the instruments of SJSU.

DONATIONS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME!  The String Project receives very limited support from the University.  The School of Music is committed to further our long-standing practice of active social justice through music-making and engaging our community via the String Project.

JOIN US FOR OUR FALL CONCERT:  Wednesday, Dec. 6, 4:00PM Music Concert Hall (free and open to the public)
